  If you judge a place by its Yelp reviews, you'll hate this place.
  If you're the kind of person i'd invite out for dinner, this is the only Chinese restaurant South of the Fraser I'd take you to.
  Old diner like from when the King Geo. was two lanes & still Hwy 99.
  Old diner?
   ... like wooden slat walls, chrome & formica.  Never needed to pretty up itself every new design theme.  Instead, it's stayed original & served big plates of food @ good prices.
  You won't find ethnic cantonese &c, but Surrey doesn't really have that option anyhow.

  Absolutely garbage......
  These people don't care about the freshness of the food or serving garbage.  The location is in such a bad part of town they won't even kick up the WOK unless they get your credit card. Speaking of that everything including the Kitchen and credit card machine is filthy and broken, UGH broken filthy chicken, no tanks... Don't know what to say, I don't leave bad reviews but this place is hazardous to your health.

  I was so afraid to go to this place even after 2 years living in Surrey. It is definitely a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant but the food is decent.
  You basically walk into a 1970's Chinatown kind of scene. The menu on the wall is faded. The furniture and floor look very old. However, it is clean enough to sit down and eat in. I ordered to go. I had sweet & sour pork, broccoli w/ chicken, and BBQ pork chow mien (noodle). It cost only $10 after tax! The amount of food is enough for two meals for a girl.
  I arrived there around 1:30pm. They cooked my food after I ordered. I am not sure if they always do this way or they cook a big batch during rush hours and just scoop into the boxes when people order.
  The sweet and sour pork is a standard dish for westernized Chinese food but often I got lots fatty meat and didn't like it. China village give you a much better combination of fatty and lean meat which I prefer.
  The broccoli chicken was a little salty to my taste. I guess they used lots oyster sauce in it. The chicken was not over cooked and the broccoli was crunchy and fresh, so it was still good.
  The noodle was not soggy like what you usually get from food court. It was also a little salty to my taste but with good flavor.
  I will certainly go there again. I wish I could have tried it earlier! I could have saved a lot of time cooking for pot luck. Haha, I will just order from this place next time.

  DO NOT EVER Order from HERE!!!!  WORST Chinese Restaurant in BC!!! We ordered their no batter garlic spareribs, pan fried prawns, chicken balls, beef and broccoli and chicken chow mein. When we opened our dinner, the spare ribs were battered, the beef and broccoli was chicken not beef and the pan friend prawns were deep fried prawns. No one is perfect so one thing wrong is excusable but 3 out of 5 dishes wrong????? The worst part was that when my wife called back the owner argued with her and told her there wasn't batter on the spareribs and that the prawns weren't deep fried. Well either we're both blind or we don't know what battered or deep fried food looks like. I'd rather order from somewhere where they don't have items on their menu that they can't make and that has an owner that is able to in the very least, apologize for their mistake. The building itself should have kept me away as it was dilapidated tear down with no faded and peeling signage and not a soul in sight. I wouldn't order from here again if it was the last restaurant on earth.

  Understanding this little, hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant (in yes, it may be considered a seedy area) across the street from Surrey Memorial requires a foodie/reader/inquirer to understand a few factors before entering.
  #1 I would not go out of my way to visit this restaurant
  #2 Bubbly, animated customer service with an ascetically pleasing surrounding is not going to happen.
  When you have overcome those realities and take-out from here (I personally would not suggest a dine-in experience, but to each their own) the food here is far better than some meals I have taken down at Asia Kitchen restaurant in Coquitlam or even the food court in my local T&T. The quality here is decent (and I only had the $8.99, 3-item lunch special) and
  if you are within walking distance and looking for slightly authentic,less Westernised and non-greasy Chinese food that won't make your stomach turn I would say try China Village...but heed my warnings!
